Arriving from the north-east, you can use VFR Route 2 for your track into Alice Springs. ATC recommends that, irrespective of your altitude, you contact Alice Tower, 118.3, at 45-50NM with your inbound details.
Track to Mt Benstead. At 3225ft, its distinctive shape is an easy landmark to pick out, flanked on its southern side by the valley and Mt Benstead Creek.
From here, VFR Route 2 follows a track of 233 degrees. The town of Alice Springs will be easy to see to the west. After passing the small settlement of Undoolya, you will be heading for Emily Gap, a checkpoint often used as a reporting point to assist ATC.

Coming in from the north-east, Emily Gap is the prominent gap in the MacDonnell Ranges, closest to Alice Springs. Do not confuse it with Jessie Gap, further east along the range.
Turning on your landing lights will assist ATC in seeing you approaching the circuit.
