Inbound from the west or south-west, track via The Oaks (THK), an approach point 6nm south-west of the airport.
Be aware of the high terrain at around 45 DME Sydney and beyond and make sure you plan your descent well ahead to avoid infringing the 4500 ft CTA step at 30 DME Sydney. Monitor Sydney Radar on 124.55.
Note that THK, 6nm south-west of Camden, is not overhead The Oaks ALA, but overhead the township of The Oaks, 1 nm east of the ALA.
Before reporting inbound to Camden Tower on 120.1 at THK, ensure you have listened to the ATIS on 125.1.
There can be considerable ultralight traffic operating at The Oaks ALA and, as the elevation here is 880ft, aircraft inbound to Camden are advised to overfly The Oaks at 3000ft, to ensure separation with circuit traffic below, operating at 1900ft.

Once past The Oaks, descend to 1800ft on local QNH to enter the Camden circuit. Do not enter class D airspace without a clearance.
Follow ATC instructions for joining the circuit and remember that, at such a busy training aerodrome, it is vital that you are at the actual altitude and position you are reporting at.
Do not descend until you are cleared to make a visual approach.
