Victor 1 North extends east of the coast between Sydney Harbour’s South Head and Dee Why (12 DME SY). Long Reef golf course is located at the northern point of Dee Why beach. This route has a maximum altitude of 1000ft. All operations must be conducted between 500ft and 1000ft.
At South Head, broadcast your position and intentions on 120.8. Switch on your landing lights and strobes. If you are transiting northbound from Victor 1 South to Victor 1 North, remain at 500ft until you are past South Head. Then you can climb to not above 1000ft.

As well as checking out the world’s best view, keep a good lookout for other scenic traffic as you track north, and monitor 120.8.
Remember that operations in the coastal route share this common frequency with helicopter and floatplane operations in R405A and R405B over Sydney Harbour. 120.8 is not monitored by Sydney ATC. In the event of an emergency, you should call Sydney Centre on 125.8 or 124.55.

Victor 1 North ends at Dee Why, where the CTA lower limit rises to 2500ft. Once you have departed the coastal route, monitor the area frequency, Sydney Centre 125.8.
