Maintain runway centreline on departure from Camden and avoid drifting south towards the glider circuit or north towards the helicopter circuit.
Avoid tracking outbound via the VFR approach points, which are potentially high-traffic areas. Departure altitude is 1300ft on Camden QNH. Maintain 1300ft until leaving class D airspace at 2nm from Camden aerodrome.
If tracking to the north, be aware you will be transiting the Bankstown/Camden training area which is one of the busiest pieces of airspace in the country. It is recommended you turn your landing lights on in this area, closely monitor 124.55 and keep a good lookout for traffic. If you have two radios, also monitor Bankstown Tower on 132.8 for information on traffic around Prospect Reservoir.
If tracking to the south, be aware of possible glider traffic operating around the southern side of the airport. Beware of Wilton danger area D593, approximately 10nm south of Camden, where skydiving takes place from controlled airspace. The jump aircraft will broadcast on Sydney Centre, 124.55. If you are unsure whether Wilton is active or not, ask Sydney Centre.
A southbound track to the west of Picton will ensure separation from the Picton and Menangle VFR approach points and will keep you clear of the Wilton drop zone.
To remain outside controlled airspace, do not climb above 4500ft until clear of the CTA step at 30 DME Sydney. Monitor Sydney Centre on 124.55 and maintain a good lookout as you transit the Camden flying training area.
No taxi clearance required. Monitor Ground on 121.9MHz.
