A useful inbound reporting point tracking from the south is the Ewen Maddock Dam, where you report inbound to the Tower on 124.4.
If clearance at Ewen Maddock Dam is not available due to departing jet traffic using RWY 18, or arriving jet traffic on RWY 36, you will be asked to remain outside controlled airspace.
In this case, you might be asked to track from the dam towards the Bruce Highway, remaining west of the highway, and report again at Nambour.
Just north-east of the dam is the easily recognised, red-roofed Ettamogah Pub on the western side of the Bruce Highway.
Nambour is a VFR approach point for inbound traffic from the west. Make sure you keep a good lookout at all times in this area.
From Nambour you will be asked to track for the airport and join whichever leg of the circuit is nominated by ATC. Do not enter the class D airspace without a clearance.
